Just a quick bit of speculation, but if I had to judge from the wallpapers on the new cataclysm site, It looks like Worgen will get warriors, rogues, druids, hunters, and DKs while Goblins can choose Mage, Warlock, DK, Rogue, Warrior. There’s also a screen of a goblin in shammie armor.
Posted mostly because I’m a speculation whore.
Quick Update: looks like worgen get all the classes but priest and paladin (from the WoWInsider LB)
Update 2: looks like they got it wrong, according to this picture from the main site, worgen get everything but SHAMAN and paladin.

Goblins
- Rocket Jump – Activate your rocket belt to jump up to 20 yards, every 2 min
- Rocket Barrage – Fire your belt rockets at an enemy within 30 yards, every 2 min. (Shared cooldown with Rocket Jump)
- Time is money – Cash in on a 1% increase to attack and casting speed.
- Best Deals Anywhere – Best possible gold discount, regardless of reputation.
- Pack Hobgoblin – Calls in your personal servent, allowing you bank access every 30 min.
- Better Living Through Chemistry – Alchemy skill +15, Your potions give more health / mana
- Goblins can be all classes except Paladin or Druids
Worgens
- Darkflight – Activate your true form, increasing movement speed by 70% for 6 sec, every 3 min.
- Viciousness – Increase damage by 1%.
- Abberation – Reduced duration on Curses and Diseases used against you by 15%.
- Flayer – Skinning skill +15, you skin creature fast, and you don’t even need a knife.
- Worgens can be all classes except Paladins or Shamans
I’ve also seen screenie (on wow’s site) with goblin pala and priest.
It looks like Goblins get everything but paladin and druid. The screen of three goblins on the main site is fronted by a goblin in the t8 mage gear (I thought it was a paladin at first).
What are the racials for both ? I have read a few members who attended Blizzcon said the Goblin racials were significant, ….but he didn’t expand or reply.
There has to be something to attract Goblin players because the Worgen are going to be off the chart in population disparity.
I’ve updated my post with the announced racials. As is, it does indeed look like Goblin racials will be pretty sweet across the board.

So why does the horde get a financial benefit while alliance does not? This could really change the nature of the game with an advantage like that. Faster money, quicker equipment upgrades and less worry about what to spend gold on at each level. Plus the benefit of bank access without going to town means faster leaving. That could mean way more horde in BGs than alliance, and faster achievements for each player and guild as horde could level faster.
I know, “Best Deals Anywhere – Best possible gold discount, regardless of reputation.” On my hunter I have exalted with Stormwind and when I went to buy flying mount training, instead of 600g it was 200g. If goblins can save 400g off of training…that’s a biiig advantage. Right after 3.1 came out I had just started on a new realm and I bought a flying mount when I hit 60, right now I’m like level 71 with like 1 day 16 hours of playtime. Plus, free blink? So I’m chasing a goblin mage and I’m about to get to him…*blink* he’s further away *rocket jump blink* gone
Goblins have all good skills and Worgen gets rest.. Fair deal.

Wow, This update is great besides the fact worgens cant be shaman. I’m gonna be the first 85!
I was miffed about worgen because ethically and traditionally a were wolf would seem more associated with the horde then alli. Think about it, 1 it’s undead, 2 people are there cattle as phrased in so many various movies, 3 were wolves are traditionally the “under dog” to vampires and a lot of the horde mythos seems to tend toward the annexed dregs pulling together to fight against man. Logically it didn’t make sense to me.
Then I read the goblin benefits and said thought well, the alliance can have all the worgens they want because they look cool which is obviously a gimmic attraction for the alliance which I shamefully admit that I fell for upon first playing WoW.
Goblin racials end the debate on where the serious players are and end up very bluntly. Despite the uber goblin 85 mages battle benefits, you still have to consider those level 85 bank toons out there mired in Dal, with fully leveled engineering and access to the bank all at one spot and alchy transmutes for gems (if it remains as it is with epic gems currently). Ouch… Gold = better gaming hands down, or the farmers wouldn’t have a job.
Honestly it sounds like blizzard is having trouble giving the ailing Alliance any further reason for playing the game at all so they threw in some twilight aesthetics to attract teenies to the game… Well, you have to make gold off of someone!

Worgens don’t even look cool to me because they are basically a draenei body with a druid cat head!
Goblins look kinky and the racials are by far better.
I like more playing on the horde side because there are not so many noobs.

i love the ally’s its just i was gonna get a race change to worgon when cataclysm comes out but i got a lvl 80 dwarf aplly and i was gonna get tht changed but worgons cant be pallys so im gonna start at lvl 1 XD
As to goblins getting the discounts and bank access anywhere, I think thats fair. Alliance has human rep bonus which gives them discounts -horde hasnt had anything like that. Gnomes have the engineering bonus, and doesnt engineering have a bank gadget that will do the same thing? Or the mobil mail box gadget, which effecively does the same thing, helps u empty ur bags in the field.
As for Horde versus alliance in general -I guess it depends. Im on Emerald Dream and was alliance for a long time, but as of late, Horde players just seem to care more about battling their enemies, the Alliance.
When I was alliance, horde would come into Ally cities all the time and wreak havoc. There would be 30 ally 80′s in the general area that just watch it happen. Since moving to Horde, every time alliance shows up, horde stack up and attack. Not to mention, pvp is way better on horde side. In the time I took my dwarf priest to 80, I saw alliance win WG ONE TIME. Only once. Ridiculous.
Forget the alliance, I’m Horde from now on. Alliance is terrible. (on Emerald Dream anyway)
